We had some good shows over the weekend and some good food too. I ate quite a bit of poffertjes and whatever that Spanish stew thing they had there over the last few days. Our Saturday afternoon show was particularly good for CDs. We were signing for about 90 minutes after the show ended. The line just didn’t get any shorter.

Well, it’s been a long tour, but a good one. I’ve been looking forward to coming back to Australia and this trip didn’t disappoint. That being said, it’ll be really nice to get home.

Fortunately it was a good one. We had our sound guy from Milano’s back and the crowd was good too.

At the vineyard show Kieran mentioned that we had a request from back home to return with some Australian candy. That little comment turned into several large assortments of candy and other sweets from our Australian friends. Thanks!! The family will be pleased (and shocked at the sheer volume).

This one counts for real. We’ve seen wallabies and such, but these were actual kangaroos. Unfortunately they were just sitting in a field, but at least they weren’t “sleeping” on the side of the road.

Nice afternoon show at the vineyard then back to our spot in Melbourne for some much needed rest.

Off in the distance you can see some pretty major rocks and cliffs. It’s quite nice. The downside is that we’re only here for a total of 17 hours. An upside is that our show had been sold out for quite awhile so we had as good a turnout as possible. They served us a really huge meal that was excellent to the point that Kevin and I ate ourselves nearly to death. Maybe it’s just cause we haven’t had access to portions like this in a long time that we over indulged.

It’s back to Victoria tomorrow for a show at a place no one can seem to remember.

We barely had anytime here at all other than to eat, play a show, sleep, then drive back to the airport to go to Tasmania. We did have a pretty enthusiastic crowd at the show here and the food was pretty good too.

For me, the sound was better than anywhere else on the tour. This is thanks to the sound guy here Bruce, who happens to look just like Owen Wilson (we mentioned that last time we were here - apparently he gets that a lot).

The drive though the Kangaroo Valley was nice, though I don’t know why they call it that (still no kangaroo sightings). Back to Sydney tonight, then off to Melbourne in the morning for a couple of days off…sort of. One of our “days off” includes flying from Sydney to Melbourne, and the other “day off” has us doing ABC radio stuff for a couple of hours.
